GPS Units

We have two GPS units on reserve for checkout. They are located in the locked cabinet where the camera is located. The units circulate for 24 hours. There is an instruction booklet as well and batteries are on the way.

off campus access

Stacy has made a nice handout for off campus students who are having problems accessing the databases. I am not able to attach that file to this blog, but it's in the checkout updates notebook. basically the students need to reset their password on MYFSU.

Laptop #7

Rodney will be checking this laptop for the next day or so. It's over at the tech desk next to the oval information desk.

circ desk card readers both read ER. 2 when initializing student ID. John was called at 11:00 am today.

Color printer not working

It requires administrator password. Card reader shows a dash line.
I called and left John a message about it.

John, the black and white printer machine # 10901656 is taking the money off the print cards and is not printing the pages. Thanks for your help.

Thesis Binding

I've been receiving a number of questions on thesis binding. If you get one, the guidelines are in the notebook at the check out desk. I don't see a way to attach them here.

Updates

1. Reserve items (unless multiple day checkouts) do not get a detuner. They remain in the building and may not go to the Extended Study area.
2. Laptops may be checked out without regard to their age. (in other words it does not matter which ones you check out first)
3. The username and password for ILLiad is circ and ILL

Color Printer Computer is Out of Order. Need an administrator password. John has been contacted regarding this situation.

B/W Printer Toner Low

Machine ID #: 10901657 (next to the Fax machine on the 1st Floor)
Problem: Toner low. Patron printed 8 pages showing the problem.

A sign has been posted on the machine.

Fax Machine on First Floor

The fax machine on first floor is not working properly. It will return the card even if it has enough money on it and the fax does not go through. Thanks for your help.

B/W Printer on the 1st Floor

Toner low. A patron had 15 unreadable pages printed from the station next to the color printer.

Perhaps cartridge needs to be replaced.

Color Printer on First

The color printer on first floor is leaving in blotches on the papers. I will put an out of order sign on it. Thanks for your help. 2/18/09

Copy Station 113 Machine

The copier's program display screen is blank although the machine can still make copies this evening. We tried our best and even re-started the machine but were unable to bring the screen back.
John, would you please take a look and set the screen back if possible? Thanks!

Card Reader

Hi John,

I called you about the card reader to the color printer. The problem has been solved now. There was a card stuck in it. Rick Bearden got it out and the printer is working fine now.

The color printer is taking money off students' cards and not printing. I used courtesy card for a student and the color printer did the same thing.

Updates

1. There are now 8 macs on the reading room end of the second floor. They were added recently. They have a few different software items used for Graphic Design including Adobe Illustrator.
2. We have two new librarians, Mari Kermit-Canfield is a reference librarian and Stacy Anderson is our new Distance Education Librarian. Emily Mitchell will join us in February and be our electronic resources librarian.
3. New stair tread. The stairways were repaired very recently with a much better product ( we hope). Should be safer.

1st Floor B/W Printer

The black/white printer next to the color printer on the 1st floor of FLITE shows toner low. After the 1st patron printed his unreadable page, I shook the cartridge. However, that was not the good enough solution.
